Mets: bone mets so none pain and arthritis and features of anemia and pancytopenia
Mets tovisceral organs less common but lungs liver and adrenals most
Classical finding on dre of a patient with prostate cancer
Stony hard prostate in part or whole of the gland with obliteration of median sulcus
Where is the most common site of origin of skeletal mets
Prostate
What psa values suggests cancer and what suggests advanced disease and basically diagnostic of prostate cancer
So a psa of more than 10 is suggestive of cancer
However more than 35 is almost diagnostic
Imaging modality of choice for staging local disease of prostate cancer
Mri
If psa levels are above 10 what’s a necessary investigation that must be done
Once diagnosis made bone scan must be performed if psa above 10 or biopsy shows high grade cancer
