If you only have one verb in the phrase, where does the pronoun go?
In front on the verb
la mando (la carta) les mando (a mis amigos)
If you have two verbs in the phrase, where does the pronoun go?
Either before the verbs:
la quiero mandar (la carta)
OR attached to the infinitive verb: quiero mandarla (la carta)
What are the direct object pronouns?
me te lo, la nos os los, las
What are the indirect object pronouns?
me te le nos os les
When you have both a direct object pronoun and an indirect object pronoun in the same sentence, where do you place each pronouns?
The indirect object pronoun comes first
Ellos me los dan
They give them to me
Indirect pronoun: me
Direct pronoun: los
Ella te la vende
She sells it to you
Indirect pronoun: te
Direct pronoun: la
What do you do when both pronouns begins with the letter ‘L’?
Change the first pronoun to “se”
le lo = se lo le la = se la le los = se los le las = se las les lo = se lo les la = se la les los = se los les las = se las
What happens when you attach both an indirect and direct object pronoun to the end of an infinitive verb?
A written accent is also added to the final syllable of the infinitive
Ella debe explicármelo.
Ella no debe explicármelo.
Quiero decírtelo.
No quiero decírtelo.
When the pronouns come before the conjugated verb, where do you place the negative word to make it negative?
Place the negative word directly before the pronouns
Ella no me lo debe explicar.
No te lo quiero decir.
No se la necesitas enviar a ellos.
