What are direct objects?
A direct object is a noun, whether person or thing, that someone or something acts upon
Direct objects have the following characteristics:
Always used with transitive verbs; never preceded by prepositions; cannot be removed without altering the meaning of the sentence; can always be found by asking “Whom?” or “What?”

A proper noun, a noun preceded by a definite article, a noun preceded by a demonstrative adjective, or a noun preceded by a possessive adjective
How is the direct object used in an affirmative sentence?
A direct object pronoun always precedes the verb

How is the direct object used in a negative sentence?
In the negative form, it comes before the verb, which is then surrounded by “ne… pas”

How is the direct object used in an affirmative sentence with two verbs?
If there is a conjugated and an infinitive verb, the direct object pronoun is placed in between, before the infinitive

How is the direct object used in a negative sentence with two verbs?
In negative sentences with two verbs, the direct object pronoun is placed outside “ne [conjugated verb] pas”, and precedes the infinitive verb

In sentences with only one verb, the direct object pronoun is placed at the beginning

How is the direct object used in inversion with two verbs?
In sentences with two verbs, the first conjugated verb is used for the inversion and the direct object follows with the infinitive
