What is passé composé used to indicate?
Passé composé is used to indicate that an action or a situation occurred in the past. It corresponds to both the simple past (“I ate”) or the present perfect (“I have eaten) in English

Passé composé is formed by using the present tense of an auxiliary verb (avoir or être), followed by the past participle of the verb
