Emphasize the growth potential of healthy people and personal growth. Views aggression as a mistake that we can help decrease by showing unconditional positive regard.

Focus on how the body and brain enables emotions
Evolutionary Perspective
studies mental adaptations in humans to a changing environment. Believes aggression helps members of a society establish power and status and by displaying strength increases sexual reproductive options.
