Q

process of binary fission

A
  • DNA replicated
  • copied origins of replication anchored to opposite poles of the PM (via an actin-like cytoskeleton protein)
  • cell doubles in size, elongation causing the chromosomes to separate
  • via tubulin-like cytoskeleton protein, PM pinches inward and new cell wall is built
  • result is two identical cells
