Project Schedule Mgmt Flashcards
What are the main outputs of the plan schedule management process?
Schedule management plan
What are the main outputs of the device activities process?
Activity list, activity attributes, milestone list
What are the main outputs of the sequence activities process?
Project schedule network diagram
What are the main outputs of the estimate activity durations process?
Activity duration estimates
What are the main outputs of the develop schedule process?
Schedule baseline, project schedule, schedule data, project calendars
What are the main outputs of the control schedule process?
Work performance information, change request
Describe the schedule management plan
Documents the steps needed to conduct the other 5 processes - how the project defines activities, sequences activities, estimates resources, develops schedule, and controls schedule.
Also states how the measure schedule, and fix it if there are variances
Describe decomposition as part of the define activities process
Taking work packages within the WBS and breaking them into specific activities
Describe rolling wave planning
A form of progressive elaboration used in the define activities process group - work packages happening later in the project will be decomposed when more details are known
Describe activity list
Main output of define activities process. A list of all scheduled activities on the project. Each activity should map to only one work package, and have a unique identifying number
Describe activity attributes
Main output of define activities process group. More detailed information about each individual activity.
Can include resources, location, cost, assumptions, constraints, leads/lags, and relationships
Describe milestone list
Consists of all project or phase milestones. A milestone is an activity that has no duration and is used to represent a major accomplishment or event.
Describe PDM used in the Sequence Activities process
Precedence Diagramming Method. Used to create the network diagram.
Describe AON PDM
Activity-On-Node precedence diagramming method. Boxes used to represent activities, with numbers above them representing durations.
Name the four types of activity relationships
Finish to start (FS), finish to finish (FF), start to start (SS), start to finish (SF)
