what is critical path analysis used for
A
- aid production planning to meet scheduals
- give and overview of complex production runs
- show how time is spent so efficiencies can be encorperated
- moniter completion of tasks a long a timeline and highlight any delays or time gains
- help manage budget
2
Q
critical path analysis cons
A
lacks flexibility
ignores non vital tasks
not necessarily good for ‘bulky’ projects
time consuming to work out
3
Q
gant chart
A
- horizontal lines show the amount of work done or production compleeted in relation to how much time was planned out for those periods
4
Q
gannt chart pros
A
- better tracking of workflow and shows potential concerns/ constraints
- used to balance multiple projects as it can show if resources are being used effectively
- demonstrate where one project is dependent on another
- simplifies complex tasks
5
Q
gantt chart cons
A
- need constant updating
- time spent doesn’t necessarily equate to time taken
- may be difficult to see on one sheet of paper
