what is a weft knit
A
- made of one yarn traveling the width of the fabric
- simplest type of knit
- horizontal row called the course, vertical called a wale
features - lots of stretch (should be dried flat to avoid distortion)
- does not crease easily
- loops of knit trap air, insulating the wearer

polyester fleece (put through a napper to give it a brushed surface then its trimmed

what is Warp knit
A
- made of lots of individual yarns interlocked sideways
features - less stretchy (loops are connected in more places)
faster than weft knitting so its cheaper and more common - tricot
