How effective were the political achievements by 1920? (2)
-women could vote - shows by the law that women had representation and equal rights but there was a poor turn out and they often voted in line with their husband
-triggered dialogue and push for equal rights - creation of organisations by activists - splits in NWSA and AWSA meant less united lobbying so it was less effective
What economic rights had been achieved by 1920? (2)
-war - independence amongst women led to employment opportunities
-unmarried women -> increasing unemployment opportunities - manufacturing industry, telephones and typewriters (office work)

- starting to change attitudes towards the ‘separate spheres’ idea
-although given independence during war, women were expected to give up their jobs among men’s return
-still many attitudes see separate spheres as the appropriate position of women
