Program Evaluation Flashcards
Impact Evaluations
How does the program affect (impact) outcomes (intended or unintended)
Performance Monitoring
How program operates and accomplishes (did the program meet it’s goals)
Process Evaluation
how the program delivers services and/or procedures
Cost Evaluation
compare cost of program to identified benefits
Logic Model
explains goals of program and how those goals will be met
Outputs in a logic model
of program products or data (#of home visits)
Outcomes
desired results (immediate outcome and longterm outcome)
What is the selection process in an Experimental Design?
a random subject selection process
includes control group
Quasi-experimental
A true “experiment” looking for cause and effect relationships, BUT does NOT use randomly assigned groups. Subjects assigned groups based on non-random criteria
Non-Experimental
Purely observational/researcher evaluating groups/process that already exists
circularity
behavior in a system that can only be understood in the context of the interaction pattern
open system
accepts info from systems outside itself
closed system
does not accept info from other systems
homeostasis
tendency of a system to maintain internal stability
identified patient
symptomatic family member the family identifies as having the problem
