Proficiency Items Flashcards
Crew Incapacitation
Contact a flight Attendant
-Flight attendant will tighten and lock the shoulder harness,
-move the seat full aft
-recline the seat back
It takes 2 people to remove dead weight body from the flight deck if that is not possible one flight attendant must remain in the cockpit to observe the incapacitated crew member
-Ask flight attendant to get assistance from any medical personnel on board
-And to check if there is any company pilots on-board to replace the crew member
One Engine Inoperative- Obstacle Strategy (Before decent)
Set MCT A/THR off Notify ATC Decelerate to green dot Determine cruise FL Ecam Actions
Severe Turbulence
Signs- On
Auto Pilot- Keep On
A/THR (when thrust changes become excessive) - Off
Turbulence Speed - Set
Descent- Consider descending below OPT FL in order to increase buffet margin
For Approach- A/THR in manages speed- USE
For Landing- CONFIG FUll or 3. ( Full provides better handling capability in turbulent conditions however CONF 3 provides more energy and less drag
Stall Recovery
Nose Down Pitch Control- Apply Bank- Wings Level Thrust- Increase smoothly as needed Speed brakes- Check retracted Flight Path- Recover smoothly If clean and below 20,000 ft- Flap 1 select
Stall Warning at Lift-Off
Thrust - TOGA
Pitch Attitude- 15 degrees
Bank- Wings Level
Wind-Shear after V1
THR Levers - TOGA
Reaching Vr- rotate
SRS orders - Follow (if necessary you may pull full aft)
Wind-Shear Ahead (RED)
When airborne
THR LEVERS-TOGA
AP- If on keep engaged
SRS orders- Follow (pull full back if needed)
Landing
Go around- Perform
AP- If on keep engaged
One Engine Inoperative- Obstacle Strategy (Drift-down)
Speed on FCU- Green dot Pull
Alt on FCU- select cruise FL (Speed is controlled by Elevator since thrust is MCT)
Wind-shear Airborne, initial climb or landing
THR LEVERS- TOGA
AP (if engaged) - Leave on
SRS orders - Follow
- Do not change configuration until clear of W/S
- Monitor flight path and speed
- Recover smoothly to normal climb when out of shear
Wind shear Ahead (AMBER)
Before Takeoff- Delay takeoff until conditions improve
Evaluate Takeoff conditions
Select most favorable runway
Use weather radar or the predictive wind-shear system before commencing takeoff
Select TOGA
Monitor airspeed and airspeed trend during takeoff urn
