Well, thank you for your time today. This past year, Ive gained a wide range of knowledge and experience that I believe would make me a strong candidate for this position.
Can you discuss a time where you had to manage your team through a difficult situation?
Certainly! There was a time when our team faced a tight deadline for a project delivery, and unforeseen technical challenges arose. I facilitated open communication, delegated tasks effectively, provided support and guidance to team members, and helped prioritize tasks to meet the deadline successfully.
What is the most significant problem you solved in the workplace?
One of the most significant problems I solved was implementing a comprehensive disaster recovery plan for our organization. This involved assessing risks, designing and implementing backup and recovery solutions, and conducting regular drills to ensure readiness in case of emergencies.
Explain your largest failure at work. How did you learn from this experience?
My largest failure at work was when a major system upgrade I was leading resulted in unexpected downtime and disruptions to critical services. I learned the importance of thorough testing, communication, and contingency planning. I implemented stricter change management processes and conducted post-mortem reviews to prevent similar incidents in the future.
What are the three most important things to you in a job?
The three most important things to me in a job are opportunities for growth and learning, a supportive and collaborative work environment, and meaningful work that allows me to make a positive impact.
Can you give us an example of when you had to work with someone who was difficult? How did you handle the situation?
Certainly! I once had to collaborate with a team member who had a different communication style and approach to problem-solving, which initially led to conflicts. I addressed the situation by actively listening, expressing empathy, seeking common ground, and finding mutually beneficial solutions to move forward effectively.
Tell me about a time you did more than was required in your job.
There was a project where I volunteered to take on additional responsibilities beyond my role to ensure its success. I worked extra hours, conducted research, and provided support to team members, ultimately delivering exceptional results ahead of schedule.
Recall a time when you were assigned a task outside of your job description. How did you handle the situation? What was the outcome?
Once, I was assigned a task that fell outside of my usual responsibilities, requiring me to learn new skills and technologies. I embraced the challenge, sought guidance from colleagues and online resources, and successfully completed the task, earning recognition from my supervisor for my adaptability and initiative.
Describe a time when you felt stressed or overwhelmed. How did you handle it?
During a particularly busy period with multiple deadlines looming, I felt overwhelmed by the workload. To manage stress, I prioritized tasks, broke them down into smaller, manageable steps, and delegated where possible. I also practiced self-care techniques like exercise and mindfulness to maintain focus and resilience.
A typical day at Procure Plus?
Well, during my time at Procore, I also worked as a Teacher, which developed my multitasking ablilities. Each day would consist of reviewing tickets in progress with the Jira tool, and communicating with instructors to complete these successully. Some of my projects included deploying CI/CD pipelines, installing monitoring software on servers, and creating a VPN connection between two accounts.
Give me an idea of the type of technologies you are exposed to.
Certainly! As a DevOps or Cloud Engineer, I’m exposed to a wide range of technologies that facilitate automation, deployment, monitoring, and management of cloud-based infrastructure. Some of the key technologies I work with include:

As a DevOps or Cloud Engineer, my greatest strengths lie in my ability to automate processes, streamline deployments, and optimize infrastructure for scalability and reliability.

If I were to identify areas for improvement, I would focus on enhancing my networking and communication skills, as I believe they are essential for fostering strong relationships and effective collaboration in dynamic work environments.

I am actively seeking opportunities in the cloud industry, specifically aiming to secure a role as a DevOps Cloud Engineer. I’m passionate about leveraging my skills in cloud technologies and software development to drive innovation and streamline operations in cloud-based environments.
