DNS Flashcards
What is DNS?
DNS (Domain Name System) is a hierarchical decentralized naming system for computers, services, or any resource connected to the Internet or a private network. It translates domain names to IP addresses, allowing users to access resources using human-readable names.
Explain the System won’t boot scenario process.
In a system won’t boot scenario, troubleshooting involves several steps:
Check hardware: Verify that all hardware components are properly connected and functional.
Check BIOS settings: Ensure that BIOS settings are correct, including boot order and hardware configurations.
Boot into safe mode: Attempt to boot the system into safe mode to diagnose and resolve any software-related issues.
Check disk integrity: Use disk utilities to check the integrity of the system disk and repair any errors.
Check for software conflicts: Identify and address any conflicts between installed software or drivers that may be preventing the system from booting.
Restore from backup: If necessary, restore the system from a backup to a known working state.
