Series of identical products made
Once finished another series of products are made using same production line
E.g. Bread, furniture

Uses a production line
Each element made at a different stage
Produced for long periods of time
If a problem at one stage, everything stops
E.g. Cars, electrical goods

Produced 24/7
Relatively cheap
E.g. Standard components and drink bottles

A

Everything arrives as it is needed
Reduces storage costs
If delivery fails, no production
Often factories have a buffer stock (small amount of stock incase delivery is late)
