Milan = v1 (GA is 2021 Android, Qualcomm chip)
Kyoto = v2 (GA is 2023 Android, Qualcomm chip); improvements in camera and pinch detect to take picture (without touch)
Paris = v3 (GA is 2024 XROS, Carson chip); improvements in camera (42mm) which requires custom ISP, LTE in every SKU, Carson SoC will be on its on die

They are APs for Orion and Milan, respectively. AP is an application processor a special kind of microprocessor. The application processor moniker came out of the cellular industry. In a mobile device, it refers to a chip used for the primary processing of cellular phone and other smart functions.

FAST creates custom SoC’s to address the challenging thermal, industrial design, functional/algorithmic, and performance requirements of our product portfolio when off-the-shelf silicon does not suffice

XR Tech or Perception Platform is a new kind of middleware that provides a sophisticated set of AI, Human & Machine Perception capabilities.

How is XR Platform and XROS related?

XR Platform is proposing a strategy to combine FAST, XROS and XR tech for a sustainable platform for custom SoC. When the AR/VR roadmap had a limited set of devices this was OK, but now that it has grown so much, the model (of not re-using components and having different SoC for multiple products) is no longer scalable (or sustainable).
