What is MMU?
Memory Management Unit (MMU), sometimes called paged memory management unit (PMMU), is a computer hardware unit
What is XR Bridge?
Debugging bridge - enables developers to connect their workstation to a device (running XROS). For example, getting files on/off device.
What is Zephyr?
Zephyr is a small real-time operating system for embedded, resource constrained and connected devices.
What is custom ISP?
Image Signal Processor: The ISP equips a high performance image signal processing engine, which executes processes like noise reduction, auto exposure, auto focus, and auto white balance in high speed and high quality.
What is RFI?
Radio Frequency Interference: RF interference occurs when there are radio frequency signals that are essentially competing with one another.
What is SLSI?
Samsung partner who develops custom silicon. They are working with FAST/Paris team to define custom SoC, Carson.
What is Brussels?
Brussels is the name for the Application Processor (AP) that lives on the stage along with the Avogadro co-processor and wireless radio chips. Brussels contains the micro-processors (CPUs), graphics processor (GPU), video processor (VPU), and Display Controller (DPS). Brussels will be an off-the-shelf system-on-a-chip purchased from an external vendor. Brussels CPU(s) runs the operating system for Orion called XROS and the AR applications.
What is MCU?
MCU is Micro Controller Unit, is a small computer on a single metal-oxide-semiconductor (MOS) integrated circuit (IC) chip versus an MPU, which is a Micro Processor Unit that has surrounding chips that support various functions like memory, interfaces, and I/O.
What is meant by World Locked?
In Orion, when a virtual object is locked into view, its considered “world-locked”, creating the illusion of a virtual object being perfectly aligned with reality. For example, a user can pin a video stream to the call creating an illusion the video is on the wall like a TV.
