Most accurate type of denture base.

Can’t be relined.

Do you do block outs on the master cast when you’re doing a definitive denture?
No!
You don’t want to compromise the fit.
When would you NOT need to place a postdam?
When the base is metal or the base is digitally milled.
Bc the postdam is just to compensate for acrylic polymerization shrinkage.
A duplicate of the master cast since the master cast gets destroyed during processing of the acrylic base.
The processed based are placed on this.
Mounting cast.
Advantages of completed denture bases.
1) Making jaw records that are accurate.
2) Arranging the teeth.
3) Evaluating the fit.
The accuracy of jaw records for a denture is related to what?
The fit of the processed bases.
These have to be addressed BEFORE you take jaw records for the final denture.
Overextensions and pressure areas of the processed bases.
These dentures bases have a metal casting incorporated into it.
Weighted denture bases.
