A

2035 is nearly two decades away, and the goal of clean energy is just that—a goal. There is not a rock solid plan to replace fossil fuels with renewable resources such as wind and water because there is not adequate resources, and millions of people would lose their jobs. Complete reliance on renewable energy is not economically or politically feasible for the time being, so the next best solution is improving the processes of fossil fuels, specifically that of coal, to reduce the negative effects it has on the environment.

A

There are other fossil fuels that need improvement, but coal is the most abundant resource in the United States, making it a personal mission to adopt policies that will drastically reduce the harmful sides of coal, but will create improvements such as cheaper costs and use for byproducts.
