- Ornamental structure devided space into broad areas of colour and use of grand paintings
- Moves away from illusionism, images more flat, architecture is unrealistic (House of Jason)
- Renewed focus on gardern (peristyle, House of Gilded cupids
- Atrium Peristyle house (entrance with garden centre of house)
