A
Younger Population
Seen in cocaine users

Pathophysiology
A
Due to coronary vasospasm which occur spontaneously even at rest
Constriction of the smooth muscle surrounding the artery reducing blood flow through the vessel
Cause ischaemia through all layers of the heart - TRANSMURAL ISCHAEMIA

Signs and Symptoms
A
Same as stable angina except may occur at rest
Pain radiating to jaw, both arms, shoulders and back
Lasts less than 20 mins

Diagnosis
A
ECG - ST elevation

Treatment
A
Ca2+ blockers = AMIODARONE
Vasodilators = GTN spray = increase blood flow to heart
AVOID BB
