What are the three principles of justice?
Fairness, Equality and Access
What is the principle fairness?
Fairness is when legal process, systems and instituons are reasonable and unbiased.
What is the principle equality?
Equality is when everyone is treated the same before the law regardless of personal characteristics and everyone gets equal oppurtunity to present their case.
What are some personal characteristics that get discriminated against? List 5
Age, race, disability, sexuality and gender
What is substantive equality?
Substantive equality is when some people get different things to make sure it is fair.
What is the principle access?
The principle access refers to all members understanding their legal rights and have access to appropriate experts and legal institutions. Addionally, they should be able to pursue their case without financial or situational burden.
