Patch (Vitiligo)
Elevated, firm, circumscribed. <.5cm
Papule (Wart, elevated mole)
Elevated, firm, rough, flat top, >5.cm
Plaque (psoriasis, eczema)
Elevated, firm, circular. Deeper in tissue than pustule.
Nodule (Lipoma)
Elevated and solid, w/ or w/o clear demarcation. Deeper in dermis. >2cm.
Tumor (Lipoma, benign tumors)
Elevated, irregular shaped, solid, transient, variable size.
Wheals (Insect bites, hives)
Elevated, circular, superficial, serous fluid filled. <.5cm
Vesicle (Blister)
Vesicle >.5cm
Bulla (Blister)
Elevated, superficial, similar to vesicle, but filled pus filled.
Pustule (Acne)
Elevated, circular, encapsulated, filled with liquid or semisolid material. Found in dermis or subQ layer.
Cyst (Sebaceous cyst).
