Koilonychia (spooning)
Nail flips up at end (resembling spoon)
Clubbing
Nail angle increases leading to a club-like appearance. Can be due to prolonged cardiac or respiratory diseases, or idiopathic.
Beau’s lines
Horizontal/transverse grooves on nail plate. Can be related to infection, trauma, systemic disease, et al.
Varicosities
Varicose veins
Onycholosis
Spontaneous separation of the nail from the bed. Trauma, medications, infection, et al. causes.
Striae
Skin irregularities that resembles stripes. (Stretch marks)
Dependent Edema
Fluid remains in low points
Peau d’orange
Skin puckers and resembles an orange peel on breast. Due to lymphatic blockage
Paronchia
Infection or disease around the nail.
Lekonychia
white spots on nail plate.
Anagen
Active growth. 3-4 years period. Most (84%) of hair in this stage.
Catagen
Folilicular regression. 2-3 weeks. 1-2% here.
Telogen
Resting period. 3 months. 10-15% hair here.
