- raised IOP can lead to retinal ganglion cell death > vision loss

A
- loss of peripheral vision
- usually in superior visual field first
- visual field defects
- increased intraocular pressure
- cupping of optic disc

- ophthalmoscopy or slit lamp
- gold standard - Goldmann tonometry
- gonioscopy - open drainage angle

A
- 360° selective laser trabeculoplasty
- prostaglandin analogue - latanoprost
- beta blocker - timolol (eye pain, blepharitis, conjunctivitis, bradycardia, N&V, heart failure, bronchospasm)
- trabeculectomy, shunt insertion
