-er/-ar verbs that have a stem change in the present tense, are regular, in the preterite.
Examples: Cerrar - present/preterite 3rd person singluar.
La tienda cierra / La tienda cerró.
Examples: Volver - present/preterite 3rd person singluar.
Carlitos vuelve tarde. / Carlitos volvió tarde.
Examples: Jugar - present/preterite 3rd person singluar.
Él juega al fútbol. / Él jugó al fútbol.
What is the deal with -ir verbs with stem changes?
-ir verbs that have a stem chance in the present, also have one in the preterite.
What’s the deal with verbs that end in the following: -car/-gar/-zar?
They have a spelling change in the yo form. They are only strange in the “yo” form.
