Pressurization Ch. 13 Flashcards
What are the two modes of the pressurization system?
Auto and manual
Where does the pressurization system derive data from during the auto mode?
FMS
What is the cabin altitude of 45,000 feet?
7000
What displays cabin altitude, cabin rate of climb/descent, differential pressure, and outflow valve position?
The cabin pressure controller
What does the outflow valve do?
Modulates airflow from the ECS to control cabin pressure
While in automatic mode, what is the primary means of over pressure relief?
Outflow valve
What is the purpose of the safety valve?
Provide positive/negative differential pressure relief
9.35 - CAS msg
9.45 - SV opens
9.55 - structural limitation “pack to off”CAS
What is the cabin pressure altitude limitation?
Max - 15,200’
Prevented from exceeding 14,800 + 400’ by the independent Altitude Limit Switching Assembly (in case of failure of the two redundant altitude limit features)
High cabin altitude warning
Limited to 14,750 when below 25,000
and when:
In ground mode
Takeoff/landing altitude 8,000+
Or
Limited to 10,000 when at 25,000 and when:
Takeoff/landing elevation below 8,000
What is automatic oxygen set to?
14,750 for high cabin takeoff/landing (TFE/LFE > 8,000)
13,500 otherwise
What’s the time to close the OFV?
Auto: 12 +/- 2 second
Manual: 55 seconds max
If a loss of power occurs, how does the outflow valve fail?
In the closed position
