What are the causes/risk factors of pressure sores?
A
Pressure, shear, friction and moisture • Immobility • Older age • Sensory impairment • Surgery • ICU stay • Malnourishment • History of pressure ulcers

What are the signs and symptoms of pressure sores?
A
- Pressure ulcers most commonly occur over bony prominences but can develop on any part of the body.
- Most commonly found on the heel and the sacrum.
- They may be small, superficial wounds or blisters involving only epidermal elements or larger (sometimes massive) wounds, often covered or filled with necrotic tissue and involving deeper tissues, including fascia, muscle, or bone.
- They are often tender.
- They may become infected leading to fevers, erythema and foul smell.

clinical diagnosis
