- CBI were allowed to help the government in developing Brexit, allowing them to implement some of their policies as they are an insider group
- CBI lobbied the government for the expansion of Heathrow airport in 2018
- AA persuaded the government to increase penalties for using mobile phones whilst driving by providing statistics and expertise in committees

- BMA called for the ban of smoking in private cars but this was rejected
- CBI informed the government that Brexit would be damaging for British business and attempted to stop Brexit but were unsuccessfully

- Snowdrop campaign in 1996 was successful in imposing stricter gun laws as a result of the Dunblane school shooting
- Stonewall advocated for same sex marriage in 2013 which lead to the passing of the 2013 marriage act

A
- Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament their cause for unilateral disarmament is unpopular as many people and the government realise the safeguard of having nuclear weapons in a ever tense world
- Liberty have a cause to reduce the governments counter-terrorism laws as they deem them excessive, however this has not received much success, the Investigatory powers Act 2016 increasing surveillance shows this

- The Gurkha Justice Campaign received much media attention due to the support of actress Joanna Lumley leading to the government announcing in 2009 that Gurkhas had the right to settle in the UK

A
- Extinction Rebellion received negative media attention for their disruptive tactics leading to weakened public support
- Stop the War Coalition in 2003 was portrayed as futile and naive to geopolitics in mainstream media such as The Times
