What is meant by a “fully conjugated” tense?
A tense that doesn’t use a helper verb
Conjugate the weak verb kaufen (to buy) in the in Present tense.
Present
- ich kaufe
- du kaufst
- er/sie/es kauft
- wir kaufen
- ihr kauft
- sie/Sie kaufen
These endings are used with all weak (regular) verbs.

The stem changes from kauf to kauft. i.e. The addition of a hard consonnt “t” to the stem kauf.
These endings are used with all weak verbs. Sometimes an addition al E is added to the stem when forming the preterite to aid pronunciation.
e.g. reden to talk ich rede (I talk); ich redete (i talked)
