Prerelease Flashcards
The development of Greenfield is an opportunity
Agree
- many social, economical and environmental advantages. Cheaper do not need decontaminating.. houses are lower maintenance and cheaper to build on so more people can be accommodated
Disagree
- Disadvantages regarding social and environmental. Green fields do not have reliable road networks and they do not have infrastructure. This could be a deterrent because might not be able to access work and in more money this could cause economic problems because more money will be spent on infrastructure. Destroy wildlife and natural habitats.
Sustainable settlement
AGREE
-it has inclusive community planning and recreational immunities. The plan includes a village grain as well as recreation space this is socially sustainable for the future as it allows community a space for leisure and environmental protection.
-Sustainable access to water and energy it includes a plant of continuing usage of the water supply which has economical benefits as less money you spent on making a new water supply. Renewable energy will be produced.
-Sustainable transport there will be a bus route electrical vehicle charging and cycle route to Tunbridge
Should it be dropped?
- traffic congestion - commuter settlement and contributes to airborne sprawl the additional settlement will include parking and adding congestion on the B2 17 so there’s development will add to this. Proposed railway station will not be built until 19,00 houses have been built so it’s not sustainable
-environmental impact - it takes away hedges woodland footpath is usually used by the local community. Destroys habits and wildlife and decreases by diversity. More hard surfaces being installed increases chances of flooding.
-Social challenges. Services such as hospitals and skills will be overwhelmed with dramatic increase of residency. Services will be more accessible. Will also be oversubscribed which may lead to more skills having to be built which costs more money in tax.
Sensitive to rural urban fringe
No need. There are no Brownfield sites to accommodate everyone I report shows Brownfield site have enough to bill one .3 billion Holmes which meets the needs for the number of houses being built for the environment.
Yes, because it is an area of natural beauty otherwise happens that will be destroyed
