Premature Complexes Flashcards
What is this rhythm ?
1. inverted p-waves
2. regular with one or more PJCs
3. normal qrs
4. not good/abnormality
5. doesnt cause the entire rhythm to be irregular
6. p-wave may be before qrs, hidden, or after qrs
premature junctional complex
What is this rhythm ?
1. QRS is bizarre, may deplete where it was usually upright, or follows t-wave with its own large qrs/may eat p-wave
premature ventricular rhythm
What is two PVCs back to back called ?
couplets
What is three PVCs back to back called ?
triplets
What is three or more PVCs back to back called ?
a run of 3 or more PVCs which is called VTach
What are different PVCs in one rhythm called ?
multifocal PVCs
What are uniform PVCs in one rhythm called ?
Unifocal PVCs
What is a PJC after every regular beat called ?
junctional bigemy
What is a PJC every 3rd beat called ?
junctional trigemy
What is a PVC after every regular beat called ?
ventricular bigemy
What is a PVC every 3rd beat called ?
ventricular trigemy
What is this rhythm ?
1. normal qrs
2. premature p-wave that is also positive
3. irregular rhythm
4. p-waves will be different than those for the underlying rhythm
premature atrial complex
What is the difference between PVCS and PJCS and PACS ?
PVC qrs are wide while PJC and PAC qrs is narrow
