What is the difference between discrimination and prejudice?

A

prejudice is unfairly judging a person before facts are known, holding biased opinion against an individual group

discrimination is to act against some on bias of sex, race, religion etc.

A

gender:

  • men hold a greater number of senior positions in the workplace
  • women are paid less on average
  • some churches do not allow women to be ministers

disability:

  • disabled people don’t get the same work opportunities
  • unborn babies who are disabled are often aborted
