Ionising radiation can cause harm to DNA, embryo or foetus

Any ionising radiation examination; plain film or CT

What is the 28 day rule
We use this when there’s a low dose examination so plain film and x rays
From the first day of the last period
What is the 10 day rule
Height does imaging - CT and fluoroscopy
10 days after the 1st day of your period
How do we do radiation shielding of reproductive organs
Lead rubber to cover ovaries testies
Reduce scatter radiaiton
