10 Point Check Flashcards
What is the 10 point check
Are a list to indicate how good your image is
Ensure consistency between practitioners
Best practise
There’s an accurate and permanent record for patients records
Image quality check for protectionl images
What are the 10 points in the 10 point checklist
Patient identification
Anatomical marker
Area of interest- inferior or superior
Correct projection
Collimation
Contrast- density
Definition - unsharpness
Artefacts
Pathology
Repeat or additional projections- 2 angles
What do you need to ask for patient identification
Name
DOB
Address - nhs number
What is projection
Radiographic projection of each body part so AP or PA
Normally need 2 views at right angle or perpendicular
What is projection
Radiographic projection of each body part so AP or PA
Normally need 2 views at right angle or perpendicular
D Collimation
Reduces radiation dose
What is contrast and density and the exposure factor so what can we see
Contrast- separation between dark and light tones - shades of grey
Density -overall darkness of image
Bony details- the trabeculae pattern and soft tissue structure and organs
What is exposure index and deviation index
EI- s the target measurement of x rays which should reach the detector dependent on body part
DI- measures the difference between how many photons should be reaching image region for body part
