Placenta
Connects the embryo to their mother so they can received food and oxygen from the mothers blood
Umbilical cord
Contains blood vessels that connects the embryo to the placenta
Amniotic sac
Surrounds a developing embryo in the uterus
Amniotic fluid
Liquid secreted by amniotic sac which protects and supports the embryo. The embryo is able to freely move its arms and legs which helps the muscles and skeleton to develop correctly
Week 3-5
Heart begins to beat. The arms, legs, eyes, lips, and nose begin to grow
Week 7
Organs start to grow inside the baby and they start to move
Week 8-12
Has hands and feet and swims and moves inside the bag of water, the embryo is now called a fetus
Week 13-20
Baby can swallow, breathe, can feel pain and moves around a lot
Week 21-24
Baby has hand and footprints
Week 25-32
Babys eye open and close
Week 33-40
Baby gets ready to be born and turns upside down
