All available information, including: NWKRAFT a. Weather reports and forecasts b. Fuel requirements c. Alternatives if the flight can't be completed as planned. d. Known ATC delays e. Runway lengths f. Takeoff and Landing distances (NOTAMS - not technically in the FAR)
Fuel requirements for IFR (91.167)
Enough fuel to complete flight to destination, including approach, then to alternate plus 45 minutes. If no alternate is required just to destination plus 45.
Before flying IFR with GPS, what preflight checks must be done? (FAA-H-8261-1)
Three part answer.
a. Ensure GPS is properly installed and certified for IFR
b. Verify dB is current
c. Review GPS NOTAMS/RAIM info.
Who is responsible for determining if aircraft is airworthy? (91.7)

What equipment is required for IFR flight? (91.205)
GRABCARDD G - generator or alternator R - radios (including nav equipment for facilities to be used) A - altimeter B - ball C - clock A - attitude indicator R - rate of turn D - DG D - DME or RNAV (for flight above FL240 if VOR required for route)
What are the required tests and inspections for IFR flight? (91.171, 91.409, 91.411, 91.413)
AVIATES A -airworthiness directives V - VOR checked w/in 30 days I - inspections, annual and 100 hour A - Altimeter tested with 24 mos T - Transponder checked with 24 mod E - ELT checked w/in 12 mos (plus replace battery after 1/2 service life or after 1 hour continuous use) S - Static/Piot system checked w/in 24 mos
May portable electronic devices be used on the aircraft? (91.21)
Not on commercial or air carrier aircraft, or aircraft during IFR.
Exceptions: voice recorders, hearing aids, pacemakers, electric shavers or any device deemed by the operator to not interfere with the aircraft
