MOA
work by upregulating anti inflam genes and downregulating pro inflam genes
suppression of oesphil and monocytes production
used in caution in who?
those with infections
childrens - may stunt growth and reduce response to vaccines
AE

skin thinning, bruising and muscle wasting due to increased catabolism
[2] immunosuppressive - increase risk of infections
[3] metabolic changes - diabetes and osteoporosis
[4] mood changes- psychosis, insomnia
5] ssupress ACTH secretion therefore adrenal atrophy in prolonged use
issue with sudden withdrawal?

therefore withdraw slowly
interactions
[1] peptic ulcers and bleeds risk increase with NSAIDS
[2] hypokalaemia with b2 agonist, theophylline and or loop diuretics
[3] reduced efficacy due to inhibitor of p450 e.g. phenyotin
