What is Al Qadr
predestination, belief everything. has been planned by Allah - his masterplan (Surat 13:42)
Al Qadr bases
Allah belived to have foreknowledge (sifat), muslims believe Allah wrote his plan in ‘Al law hat mahooz’ before creation of anything else
No change can happen unless Allah wills it
Muslims taught to accept all things as part of Allahs plan
Belief on Day Of Judgement
Everyone will be judged on their faith (iman) and actions recorded in book of deeds

Muslim denomination, believe humans have no free will = all determined by Allah
If this is right = he is also responsible for evil/suffering?
Humans should be judged on their actions not Allah?

No belief in predestination = human hv free will

Shi’a muslims accept this, Allah may choose to change anything at any time

Shahadah - declaration of faith
What happens in Shahdah?
spoken publicly then a person can be considered a muslim
must be spoken by tongue and of full assent of the heart
When does Shahdah happen?
included in the call to prayer (adhan)
first thing a baby should hear
last words a muslim says before they die
Pillar 2 is
Salah (prayer)
What are the 5 prayers and their times?
Fajr - sunrise
Zuhur - midday
Asr - late afternoon
Maghrib - aftersunset
Isha - between sunset and midnight
What is wudu
Ritual washing required before salad
Wudu facts
Made up of 2-4 prayer cycles (Rak’ah)
Involves standing, bowing etc
Done facing Makkah
Encourages self discipline
Shows equality of muslims and solidarity
Communication and priority of Allah
Set pattern of Wudu
- hands washed
- mouth rinsed x 3
- nose is washed by blowing water in /out x 3
- face wash x 3
- both arms wash x 3 starting with the right
- top of head, ears and back of head
- both feet start with right
- recite the known phrase
Interuptions of Wudu
- sexual intercourse
- farting
- going to the loo
- sleeping
