What are some adaptations of predators?
A
- Hawks and other birds of prey have excellent sight so that they can locate their prey
- Ladybirds have strong mouthparts to enable them to chew aphids.
- Whelks produce an acid that dissolves through the shell of mussels, limpets or barnacles.

What are some adaptations of prey?
A
- Mice flee and hide to avoid being eaten.
- Frogs are well camouflaged so that they are difficult to see and attack.
- Ladybirds contain large amounts of formic acid, which is unpalatable to predators. Predators learn to avoid eating the brightly coloured ladybirds.
