Lean precautions for QAS drugs
Adrenalin precautions
- Patients taking monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs)
- Hypovolaemic shock
- Hypertension
Aspirin precautions
• Possible aortic aneurysm or any other condition that may require surgery
• Pregnancy
• History of GI bleeding or peptic ulcers
• Concomitant anticoagulant therapy
(excluding clopidogrel)
Box Jellyfish Anitvenom
• The antivenom is a foreign protein, which
can cause sensitisation, allergic reaction
or anaphylaxis
Ceftiraxone

Fentanyl
• Elderly patients • Hypotension • Respiratory tract burns • Respiratory depression and/or failure • Known addiction to narcotics • Patients taking monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs)

• Suspected inferior AMI • Cerebral vascular disease • Risk of hypotension and/or syncope • Intoxication (GTN effects are enhanced) • Erectile dysfunction medication in the previous 4 days

Oxygen precautions
•
Patients with paraquat poisioning or bleomycin lung injury may be harned by supplemental oxygen. Avoid oxygen unless the patient is hypoxaemic – target SpO2 88–92%

Prolonged administration to premature neonates

High concentrations given to COPD patients
with hypoxic drive
