Adrenalin indications
Anaphylaxis or severe allergic reaction
Severe life-threatening bronchospasm or silent chest (single words, haemodynamic compromise, ALOC)
Bradycardia with poor perfusion
Cardiac Arrest
Croup
Shock unresponsive to adequate fluid resusc.
Aspirin indications
Suspected ACS
Acute cardiogenic pulmonary oedema
Ceftriaxone
Suspected meningococcal septicaemia
non blanching petechial and/or purpuric rash
Fentanyl indications
Significant pain
Sedation for maintenac of a ETT
Glucagon
Symptomatic hypoglycaemia
with the inability to self administer oral glucose
Glucose 10%
Symptomatic hypoglycaemia
with the inability to self administer oral glucose
Glucose gel
Symptomatic hypoglycaemia
ABILITY to self administer and ingest oral glucose
GTN
Suspected ACS
Acute cardiogenic PO
Autonomic dysreflexia (sBP >160mmHG)
Irukandji syndrome (sBP >160mmHg)
Ipratropium bromide indications
Severe life threatening bronchospasm OR silence chest
patients must only be able to speak in single words and/or have haemodynamic compromise and/or an ALOC
Methoxyflurane indications
Pain
Metoclopramide
Nausea and/or vomiting
Prophylactic use if patient has previously experienced nausea and/or vomiting with narcotics
Midazolam
ACP seizures/convulsions
Sedations for:
maintenance of established ETT
severely agitated patients
agitated head injuries to faciliate treatment/assessment
Morphine
Significant Pain Autonomic Dysreflexia (sBP > 160mmHg) Sedation (for maintenance of ETT)
Naloxone indications
Respiratory depression (secondary to admininstration of narcoic drugs)
Ondansetron indications
Nausea and/or vomiting
Prophylactic use
