American Neutrality
After WWI, the Americans were in isolationism, liberals and conservatives were worried war would bring fascism and socialism. The US passed Neutrality Acts to stay out of war, one stopped Americans from selling arms to other countries, another stopped Americans from traveling to other countries.
Kristallnacht
Translates to “The Night of Broken Glass”. A Polish-Jewish student, whose parents were expelled from Germany, killed a German diplomat. Hitler said he wouldn’t do anything but he wouldn’t prevent any attacks either. Nazis dressed as civilians attacked Jewish towns. They burned Synagogues and looted Jewish businesses and homes. Hitler also stopped the police from responding to the people’s cries for help, or the fires.
Nuremberg Laws
They defined Jews racially rather than religiously. Two Jewish grandparents denied you German Citizenship, they couldn’t marry non-Jews, and they were denied Civil and Political Rights.
Pearl Harbor
Japan bombed Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941, the United States was unprepared and the much was destroyed. FDR and the US declared war on Japan, entering them into WWII. After Pearl Harbor, many men joined the marines.
Lend Lease Act
The United States supplied arms to Great Britain and other nations that were against the Axis Powers, signed by President Roosevelt.
American Supplies English
Cash and Carry was a loophole to the Neutrality Act of 1937. It let people sell goods if they were paid in cash and if they were shipped on non-US ships
