-no sign of soot which could indicate an exhaust leak
Alternator

-no missing nuts or bolts
Electrical Wiring
-not cut, cracked, dryrot, or frayed
-securly connected to the alternator
Engine hoses
-some are air, some are liquid
-not cut, cracked, dryrot, or bulging
-see and hear no leaks
Water pump
-belt driven
-not bent, cracked, or broken
-no missing nuts or bolts
-see no leaks
Alternator/water pump belt
-not cut, cracked, dryrot, or frayed
-no more than 3/4” play in the center
Coolant reservoir
-not chipped, cracked, or broken
-no missing nuts or bolts
-filled to the appropriate level
-see no leaks
Dip stick and oil cap
-this is where I’ll measure the oil level
-must be above the refill line
-oil cap is where I’ll add more oil if needed
Power steering reservoir
-not chipped, cracked, or broken
-no missing nuts or bolts
-filled to the appropriate level
-see no leaks
3 power steering hoses
-not cut, cracked, dryrot, or bulging
-see no leaks
Power steering pump
-gear driven
-not bent, cracked, or broken
-no missing nuts or bolts
-see no leaks
Air compressor
-gear driven
-not bent, cracked, or broken
-no missing nuts or bolts
-hear no leaks
Steering linkage
-steering rod
-steering box
-pitman arm
-drag link
-steering knuckle
Steering linkage

-no missing nuts or bolts
-see no leaks from the steering box
Castle nut and cotter pin
-intact on both ends of the drag link
