Pre-Trip In Cab Flashcards
I’m going to do my in-cab and air leakage test. First thing I’m going to do is adjust the seat, make sure the mirrors are adjusted for me, and put on my seatbelt
Seat belt
-not ripped or frayed
-no missing nuts or bolts
-latches properly
Conduct a safe start
-verify the parking brakes are set
-press the clutch
-gearshift in neutral
-turn the key to the on position and let the computer set (the needles on the gauges will go up to the right and return back down to the left)
-start the engine, release the clutch slowly
ABS indicator
-illuminated after the truck was turned on
-turns off after a few seconds
Temperature
-building to the proper temperature
-not overheating
Oil pressure
-pressure is building to the proper range within seconds if the truck being started
Voltmeter
-charging between 12-14 volts
Air pressure
-pressure is building to a max of 100-125 psi
Light indicators
-right turn signal
-left turn signal
-hazard indicator
-high beam indicator
ALL FUNCTIONING
City and highway horn
-sound both horns
Windshield
-is not chipped, cracked, or broken
-clean with no obstructions
Rubber seal
-not, cut, cracked, dry-rotted, or missing
-no sign of leak
Windshield wipers
-not bent, cracked, or broken
-no missing nuts or bolts
-operate properly
Washer fluid
-fluid is working properly
Heater and defroster
-is working (use hands to feel both places)
