Get in Forklift
Make sure you use three points of contact
Put Seatbelt On!
Point out Hand Controlls
Handbrake
Steering Wheel
Steering Knob
Forward / Reverse Gear
Light Switch
Indicators
Up / Down Leaver
Tilt Leaver
Side Shift Leaver
Adjust Steering
Put it into Place
Adjust Seat
If need be
Make Sure Handbrake is On
Make sure Gear is in neautral
Turn on Forlkift
Press Hours Button
To see how many hours there is , it may be due for a service
Turn on Lights
Check front headlights with Hands, and Rear lights with hands
Turn Off Lights
Check Right and Left Indicators
Visibily see the front indicator flashing, check rear with hand
Check Brake Lights
Use hand
Put foot on brake and ensure nobody is behind you and check reverse light and beeper. While it is in Reverse gear also check flashing light
Back in Neutral
Check Horn
Re-check the gear is in Neutral
Lift up forks a bit
Tile forks back to level
Lift up forks all the way
check for anything dropping and also check to see if the hydraulics are holding and that the forks aren’t lowering by themselves
Lower forks down
Check for any abnormal movement
Check Back tilt and Forward Tilt
Move tilt to horizontal
Check Side Shift operation both left and right
Re-position side shift to center
Lower forks to Axel Height
Foot on Brake
Put in forward gear
Release handbrake
Drive forward checking steering and brakes
Put in Reverse, Check Shoulders, and Mirrors, and reverse checking steering and maximum turn
Stop with wheels straight
Put in neutral
Hand Brake On
Tilt forks forward and lower to the ground
Turn off, and remove the key
Exit the forklift with three points of contact
Walk around and do a brief check for damage, leaks and ensure wheels are straight
