Where should you be positioned on the road
rightmost
Exceptions to being positioned right most
- if you turn left (position against centerline, unless one way road then position left most)
- approaching a roundabout
- one-way street
when can a car be in the cycle lane
to turn right, ONLY if the line (of the cycle lane) is broken up
Wheel position: on junction + turning left?
keep wheels straight
Indicating at a roundabout
NOT Mandatory
- but can indicate twice: 1st left, then right (for 3rd exit)
Rush-hour lane
hard shoulder lane that has been opened, USE IT !
- you can cross the solid line to go there
- decrease in speed to 100 or 80
Green arrow indicates it is open
white side arrow indicates it is closing
- clear the lane (you can still drive there tho)
red cross indicates lane is closed
Positioning when there is an accident
1st: hazard lights on OR warning triangle >30m from the car
- accident on carriage way (dont cross it) move more left or right accordingly
when in emergency lane
- wait behind crash barrier
- turn the tyres to the right
