HIGH RISK
chronic htn
htn of pregnancy
t1dm or t2dm
anti-phospholipid
MODERATE RISK
first pregnancy
family history
multiple pregnancy
BMI >35 at booking
10 year gap since last preg
age 40 or more
what is prophylaxis tx? (and duration)
Aspirin 75-150mg from week 12 to birth
who gets prophylaxis (think risk factors)
those with one high risk factor
or
those with two moderate risk factors
cure for pre-eclampsia
birth
HTN management in pre-eclampsia
same as pregnancy induced HTN
1st line labetalol
2nd line nifedipine
management of eclampsia
Bonus points for when you stop giving it
IV Mg Sulphate
Stop IV Mg 24 hours after last seizure or after birth of beeb
at what blood pressure do you admit and observe
sys 160mmHg or more
dia 110mmHg or more
