Pre-existing hypertension verses pregnancy-induced hypertension (PIH) definition

PIH= BP elevated after 20 weeks but not before
Diagnostic mmHg for HTN in pregnancy
Sys or Dia (give both)
Systolic >140mmHg
Diastolic >90mmHg
OR an increase by 30mmHg in sys or 15mmHg in diastolic
antenatal check… check bp and what else?
Dipstick!
relevant for distinguishing between HTN and pre-eclampsia
