Prayer Flashcards
What is prayer?
Prayer is the opening of the heart to God as to a friend.
Prayer is the key in the hand of faith to unlock heaven’s storehouse of blessings.
What are the four conditions for prayers to be answered?
Condition 1: Psalms 66:18
Proverbs 28:9
You cannot be practicing known sin!
If I regard iniquity in my heart, The Lord will not hear.
One who turns away his ear from hearing the law, Even his prayer is an abomination.
Condition 2: Heb 11:6 - James 1:6
You must have faith that God will perform what He says!
But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.
But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind.
Condition 3: Mat 6:14,15
You must also have the spirit of forgiveness in your heart. How can you ask God for mercy and pardon when you won’t give it to anyone else?
“For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
Condition 4: 1 Thess 5:17 Phil 4:6-7
Be watchful and thankful in prayer always!
Pray without ceasing!
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
